Job Summary: Our organization seeks a seasoned Shift Supervisor to oversee daily operations at a cutting-edge power generation facility in Dublin. This is a critical role ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient plant performance around the clock.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate the plant and optimize process parameters for improved efficiency.
  • Coordinate with field personnel from the Central Control Room (CCR) to ensure smooth plant operations and minimize downtime.
  • Act as the daily point of contact for the National Control Centre (NCC), facilitating effective communication and problem-solving.
  • Utilize the EDIL system daily; receive and act on NCC instructions; log grid-related testing delays to maintain accuracy.
  • Monitor and record various process parameters; maintain accurate plant and shift logs to inform decision-making.
  • Perform daily inspections of mechanical and electrical equipment, identifying and addressing any abnormalities or safety concerns.
  • Assist in performing scheduled maintenance and equipment overhauls (generators, boilers, centrifuges, pumps, etc.), ensuring optimal plant performance.
  • Ensure that equipment for all systems remain operational and regularly maintained to prevent breakdowns.
  • Support and train Operators during shifts, helping to resolve operational issues and promote knowledge sharing.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in key areas (control room, engine hall, workshop, etc.), promoting a safe working environment.
  • Manage stock levels of consumables (fuel, oil, chemicals) and maintain inventory records to optimize resource allocation.
  • Preserve and properly store technical documentation, schedules, spare part lists, and service orders for future reference.
  • Comply with and enforce safety and hygiene regulations, prioritizing employee well-being and environmental sustainability.
  • Contribute to implementing Quality Policy and continuously improving the Quality Management System to drive excellence.Requirements:
    • Technical/vocational training in electrical and mechanical systems, demonstrating expertise in these areas.
    • Practical certification (e.g. Merchant Navy operator or engine room technician), showcasing hands-on experience.
    • Experience as a plant operator or shift supervisor in power generation facilities, highlighting leadership skills and industry knowledge.
    • Knowledge and practical experience with Industrial supervision systems, leveraging technology to enhance operations.
    • Mechanical workshop tasks, repairs, and overhauls of electro-mechanical equipment, applying problem-solving skills.
    • Handling, storage, and treatment of fuels and lubricants, ensuring responsible resource management.
    • Experience managing inventories of tools and materials, optimizing resource allocation and reducing waste.
