Maintenance Supervisor

This position is based in Waterford on a rotating shift pattern and represents a new role within the organisation.

We seek an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to oversee preventative maintenance programs, drive improvements in maintenance efficiency, develop training plans for technicians and lead daily meetings to optimise lens production while ensuring quality and safety compliance.

  • Implement Condition-Based Maintenance & Planned Maintenance programs
  • Drive improvements in maintenance activities and monitor progress
  • Develop training plans and set goals for technicians
  • Lead daily meetings, prioritise resources and allocate tasks effectively
  • Own, monitor, report on and enhance equipment Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)
  • Collaborate with Engineering teams on improvement initiatives
  • Participate in staff recruitment as needed
  • Work closely with Procurement and Logistics teams on equipment spares management
  • Develop predictive maintenance systems with Engineering teams
  • Complete Quality and Safety CAPA activities
  • Oversee day-to-day maintenance, repairs and troubleshooting

Key Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or relevant technical discipline
  • Experience: At least 5 years' experience in engineering/maintenance roles in high-volume industries with advanced automation
  • Supervisory Experience: 3+ years' supervisory experience
  • Hands-on Experience: Extensive hands-on experience in preventive/reactive maintenance and technician supervision/interaction
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with medical device/pharmaceutical production (cGMP/FDA regulated environment) is preferred
  • Self-Directed & Effective Communicator: Self-directed with excellent communication skills
  • Troubleshooting Expertise: Effective communication of technical issues and their corrective/preventive actions
  • Right-First-Time Approach: Right first time approach to maintenance and repair activities
