Environmental Impact Specialist

We are seeking a skilled professional to lead the environmental impact assessment process for large scale renewable energy projects. This role will involve delivering high-quality environmental impact assessments and appropriate assessments/natura impact statements for proposed developments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement effective environmental strategies to ensure compliance with planning and environmental regulations.
  • Provide expert environmental advice to inform business unit strategy and support project development.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in environmental legislation, policy decisions, and updates to national, regional, and local authority development plans to maximize project outcomes.
  • Contribute to the development of company submissions and provide input on project plans.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and advocacy teams to develop effective communication and consultation strategies with local communities and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Prepare specifications for third-party services and assist in procurement processes as required.
  • Ensure that all works carried out comply with our health and safety and environmental policies and relevant EU and national policies and statutory requirements.
  • Support the upskilling and mentoring of junior staff in environmental impact assessment and appropriate assessment processes.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, geography, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in environmental impact assessment, preferably in the renewable energy sector.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and policies.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
