Financial Accountant Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Financial Accountant to contribute to our success.

Our company is Ireland's highest accredited contract laboratory, providing sampling, analysis, and testing services to the pharmaceutical, medical device, food, and environmental industries.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Manage daily financial operations, including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, bank reconciliations, and general ledger management.
  2. Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions in compliance with standards.
  3. Coordinate with relevant departments to ensure data accuracy and compliance.
  4. Manage claims processes for funding to maximize opportunities.
Financial Reporting:
  1. Prepare monthly management accounts and support group reporting and analyses.
  2. Ensure statutory reporting requirements are met, including VAT, tax filings, and year-end accounts.
Budgeting & Forecasting:
  1. Assist in preparing annual budgets and forecasts with department heads.
  2. Monitor performance against budgets, report variances, and recommend actions.
  3. Support financial modeling for new projects and scenario planning.

Fully qualified accountants (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) with proven experience (3+ years) as a financial accountant in an SME environment. Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, and transactions. Experience with financial software and ERP systems, ideally SAP.
