Marketing Assistant Job Description

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic marketing team as a Marketing Assistant. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing vital support in executing marketing campaigns, managing various marketing initiatives, and contributing to the overall success of our marketing efforts.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of marketing principles, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the implementation of marketing strategies: Collaborate with the marketing team to execute marketing plans and campaigns across various channels, including digital marketing, social media, email marketing, events, and advertising.
  • Content creation and management: Create engaging and compelling content for marketing materials, including blog posts, social media updates, email newsletters, and website content. Coordinate with internal teams to ensure consistency in brand messaging and maintain a content calendar.
  • Market research and analysis: Conduct research on industry trends, competitors, customer demographics, and market conditions to identify opportunities for growth. Prepare reports and presentations summarizing key findings and recommendations.
  • Marketing collateral development: Assist in the creation and maintenance of marketing collateral such as brochures, flyers, presentations, and sales materials. Ensure brand consistency and accuracy of information.
  • Event coordination: Support the planning and execution of marketing events, trade shows, conferences, and webinars. Assist in logistics, including venue selection, registration, promotion, and coordinating with vendors.
  • Administrative tasks: Provide general administrative support to the marketing team, including scheduling meetings, organizing files, maintaining databases, and managing project timelines.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, or related field is desired but not essential. Some work experience in lieu of a degree would be considered.
  • Previous experience: Proven experience (internship, part-time, or full-time) in marketing, advertising, or a related field is desirable.
  • Marketing knowledge: Understanding of marketing principles and techniques, including digital marketing, content creation, social media, and market research.
  • Communication skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to write engaging content and present information effectively.
  • Organisational skills: Strong organisational and multitasking abilities with exceptional attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Analytical mindset: Ability to analyse data, identify trends, and extract insights. Proficiency in using analytics tools and platforms is a plus.
  • Team player: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
  • Proficiency in technology: Familiarity with marketing software and tools, such as CMS, CRM software, email marketing platforms, and social media management tools.
  • Creative thinking: Ability to think creatively and contribute innovative ideas to marketing campaigns and initiatives.
