Job Title: Occupational Health and Safety Specialist

Your new role as Occupational Health and Safety Specialist will involve providing expert support and guidance to Site Management Teams and Staff on matters related to occupational safety, health, environmental protection, and quality management.

You will be responsible for conducting thorough site inspections, assisting staff and contractors in adhering to relevant legislation, client standards, and contractual arrangements, identifying areas of risk and developing measures to mitigate them, and improving performance through initiatives and addressing areas of poor performance.

In addition, you will be required to produce HSEQ performance reports as needed and promptly alert line and functional management to significant accidents and incidents. You will also assist and liaise with external bodies, such as enforcing agencies.

To succeed in this role, you will need to have experience in Health & Safety on construction sites in Ireland, good academic qualifications, preferably a 3rd Level qualification in Health & Safety, experience with relevant HSQE standards and management systems, a degree standard or equivalent professional qualification in a related subject, membership of a relevant professional institute, and training in industry issues.

Furthermore, you will require excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills, a high standard of written English, and a full driving licence.
