Our mission at Acquired Brain Injury Ireland is to empower individuals with acquired brain injuries to rebuild their lives and live valued lives of optimal independence.

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Community Rehabilitation Assistant to join our team in supporting people with acquired brain injuries in the South West Dublin, Kildare & West Wicklow community.

The role of the Community Rehabilitation Assistant is to provide expert support and guidance to individuals with acquired brain injuries, helping them to achieve their goals and participate fully in activities within the community.

With a person-centred approach, our Community Rehabilitation Assistants work closely with each individual to develop and implement Individual Rehabilitation Plans (IRPs) that meet their unique needs and aspirations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Fostering positive relationships with individuals served and maintaining a professional and constructive rapport
  • Undertaking the role of Keyworker as required
  • Providing support to achieve goals set out in IRPs
  • Improving quality of life by developing, encouraging, and supporting activities of daily living
  • Encouraging family, personal, and neighbourhood relationships and interactions

The ideal candidate will possess a relevant Health or Social Care qualification, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to write and speak English to a high standard. Previous experience supporting people in the community and working in an area of disability would be an asset.
