Job Title: Tooling Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Tooling Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our production department, you will be responsible for maintaining high standards of health and safety while performing daily preventative maintenance on multi-cavity injection mould tools.

The ideal candidate will have a toolmaking qualification and experience in a mould maintenance environment, with knowledge of the latest mould tool technology and the injection moulding process.

You will work closely with the Production team to troubleshoot mould problems and quality issues, manage the manufacture and maintenance of jigs & fixtures, inspect and measure tooling spare parts, and adhere to documentation procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain high standards in health and safety and housekeeping
  • Perform daily preventative maintenance on various multi-cavity injection mould tools
  • Collaborate with the Production team to troubleshoot mould problems and quality issues
  • Manage the manufacture and maintenance of jigs & fixtures
  • Inspect and measure tooling spare parts
  • Adhere to the spare part management system and documentation procedures
  • Foster a teamwork culture within the facility
  • Complete all relevant documentation as per company procedures
  • Support tooling transfer processes

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Toolmaking qualification and experience as a toolmaker in a mould maintenance environment
  • Knowledge of the latest mould tool technology
  • Understanding of the injection moulding process
  • Experience with manufacturing, repairing, or maintaining multi-cavity, hot runner, or valve-gated moulds is advantageous
    • Knowledge of electrics, hydraulics, and pneumatics is a plus
    • Understanding and application of lean principles and problem-solving techniques
    • Strong troubleshooting skills
    • Familiarity with various plastics and mould types
    • Computer literacy (SolidWorks, MS Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is beneficial
