Senior Finance Professional

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Finance Professional to join our growing finance team.

About the Role:
  • This is a newly created position offering an excellent opportunity to contribute to the success of our business.
  • The ideal candidate will possess advanced Excel skills and experience with accounting software.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Producing monthly management accounts for review and consolidation
  • Preparing and posting prepayment & accrual journals on Sage
  • Assisting with monthly stock reconciliation and cost analysis versus budget
  • Conducting balance sheet reconciliations, including intercompany balances
  • Supporting the Financial Controller with ad hoc reporting and operational queries
  • Preparing VAT returns (UK & Ireland), Intrastat, payroll returns, and CSO reporting
  • Liaising with auditors
  • Assisting with projects to improve internal controls
  • Providing cover and support for AP, AR, and Payroll functions
  • Offering holiday cover and backup for the Financial Controller as needed
Required Skills:
  • Proficiency in IT, especially Microsoft Excel
  • Working knowledge of Sage software (advantageous but not required)
  • Relevant qualification — qualified accountant or experienced accountant capable of producing management accounts
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to question and clarify details, and communicate effectively with stakeholders
  • Positive attitude and ability to multitask
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills to meet deadlines
  • Team player, flexible to business needs and month-end processes
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in reporting
  • Discretion when handling sensitive information
