Job Description

  • We are seeking an experienced Board Secretary to support our client's Board of Directors. The successful candidate will be responsible for reporting on all Board governance matters and providing regular updates on best practices in legal and operational matters.
  • The ideal candidate will have prior experience working in a Board Secretary post in the public or private sector and have an in-depth working knowledge of the Code of Practice for the Governance of State Bodies.
  • They will also demonstrate an understanding of the key roles, responsibilities and expectations that come with the Board Secretary role in the public sector.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Educational qualifications (Level 8 on the National Framework of Qualifications or equivalent) in relevant discipline(s) commensurate with this service or significant relevant professional experience.
  • Qualification in corporate governance/company secretarial or legal.
  • Excellent communications, interpersonal and influencing skills at Executive/Board level, in addition to strong service orientation and ability to interact with a complex range of stakeholders.
  • Ability to maintain independence of thought and judgement and to uphold best practice in corporate governance.
