Transport Operations Leader

The Transport Operations Leader role at our organization involves overseeing the daily management of a medium-sized fleet and leading a team of transport planners to deliver efficient and reliable services.

  • Manage day-to-day operations, ensuring compliance with safety standards, regulations, and optimal vehicle utilisation.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Customer Service teams to understand customer requirements and meet them on time, every time.
  • Develop and implement initiatives to enhance cost efficiency without compromising service quality.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of transport planners to achieve operational excellence.
  • Maintain strong relationships across departments, fostering open communication and collaboration.
  • Analyse performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategies to streamline operations.
  • Evaluate opportunities to enhance scheduling, routing, and resource allocation.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in transport management, preferably within logistics or related sectors.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to build strong relationships across departments.
  • A strong commercial acumen, with a proven track record of driving efficiency and controlling costs.
  • Familiarity with relevant legislation and industry best practices.
