Job Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced fishmonger to join our team at a leading market.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensuring accurate de-scaling and removing of bones, gutting, cleaning, and filleting fish using cutlery and powered equipment.
  • Portioning and preparing fish & seafood, ensuring the availability of a wide range of quality products.
  • Demonstrating energy and passion for every sale, ensuring that every opportunity to satisfy the customer has been explored.
  • Guaranteeing that the fish is stored correctly at all times and carrying out temperature checks on the product and recording data in line with food safety standards.
  • Increasing sales by selecting products to meet customer requirements while highlighting facts & benefits of the product.
About You:

Previous experience working in a fast-paced sales environment or kitchen environment is required. A great knowledge of margins, discounts, waste, and shrink is necessary to ensure maximum profit from every sale. Being aware of the latest trends in the market and what direct competitors are offering is also essential.

Consistently delivering exceptional customer service is vital. Excellent merchandising skills and product offerings to maintain freshness and customer appeal are necessary. Teamwork, leadership, energetic and proactive personality when approaching customers, great communication skills, reliability, hard work, and customer focus are crucial.
