Job Title: Graduate Designer

Overview of the Role:

Circet is seeking a talented and ambitious Graduate Designer to join our Data Centre Design Department in Letterkenny on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who have completed a qualification in Building Services, Architectural Design, Engineering or an equivalent field and are eager to gain experience in the development of cutting-edge digital infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

  1. Design and plan structured cabling and network systems within high-performance data centre environments.
  2. Interpret technical drawings, floor plans, and specifications to produce accurate network designs.
  3. Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and external contractors to ensure project success.
  4. Prepare and maintain comprehensive design documentation, including schematics, layout drawings, and design packs.
  5. Conduct site visits and assessments to ensure feasibility and compliance with design requirements.
  6. Support troubleshooting efforts and redesigns where network modifications are required.
  7. Generate detailed Bills of Materials (BOMs) from design specifications.
  8. Coordinate design work using Autodesk Navisworks for clash detection and 3D model integration.
  9. Stay up-to-date on data centre design trends, tools, and best practices.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Degree in one of the following fields: Building Services Engineering, Architectural Technology, Architecture, Civil/Structural/Electrical Engineering, Construction Management or Construction Technology.
  • Knowledge of structured cabling design, network planning, or data centre environments.
  • Familiarity with BIM/Revit, particularly producing LOD500 designs.
  • Knowledge of BICSI standards and/or RCDD certification.
  • Understanding of M&E services in a data centre context.
  • GIS experience is a plus.
