Electrical Engineering Co-Op Opportunity

In this exciting role, you will work as a research and development co-op student in the electrical engineering team. Your primary responsibility will be to assist in the planning and design of medical devices for orthopedic surgeons.

As part of this team, you will support the R&D new product development teams in bringing new medical device products to market.

You will have the opportunity to work on real-world projects that make a difference in improving healthcare and patients' lives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in developing and reviewing electrical schematics
  • Generate netlists and perform layout reviews
  • Support BOM generation, scrubbing, and review
  • Contribute to prototype design and evaluation
  • Perform hands-on bench testing to verify electrical designs and assess device performance
  • Participate in stack-up analysis
  • Assist in DFX reviews
  • Generate and review PCB and PCBA prints
  • Draft engineering specifications
  • Participate in comprehensive design reviews

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Basic understanding of electrical engineering principles, including circuit design and analysis
  • Familiarity with electrical design tools and practices within a structured or regulated environment
  • Ability to perform basic analysis tasks, including understanding of tolerances and their impact on design
  • Introductory knowledge of PCB design and manufacturing processes
  • Awareness of DFX concepts
  • Ability to interpret basic electrical drawings and schematics
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for documentation and analysis
  • Familiarity with eCAD tools
  • Exposure to bench-testing equipment
