Language Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Language Manager to oversee the quality of Simplified Chinese translations.

This is a critical role that requires strong writing and editing skills, as well as experience localizing video games and using CAT Tools such as memoQ.

  • Responsibilities:
  • Own the quality of Simplified Chinese translations.
  • Translate in-game text, voice scripts, marketing and PR content as required.
  • Create and maintain translation memories, glossaries, and style guides.
  • Provide cultural and creative input regarding the localization of products into the target region.
  • Maintain awareness of the industry in the target market and communicate trends to relevant stakeholders.
  • Develop and build strong relationships with relevant stakeholders in an effort to resolve questions or conflicts related to terminology, language quality, and workflow.
  • Playtests to confirm in-game text context for accurate translation.

Requirements for this Role:

  • At least 2 years of experience localizing video games.
  • Strong writing and editing skills in Simplified Chinese.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Experience localizing time-delimited dialogues.
  • Experience with CAT Tools, memoQ is a plus.

Nice to Have Qualifications:

  • At least one AAA game shipped.
  • Experience with voice acting casting.
  • Experience with Confluence and JIRA.
