We are seeking a skilled and experienced Community Outreach Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a vital role in helping local communities access accurate information, counter misinformation, and develop informed responses.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and community-focused professional to work with us. As a Community Outreach Specialist, you will be responsible for building strong relationships with local communities, understanding their concerns, needs, and experiences related to migrant integration.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement effective community outreach strategies to promote inclusive and positive approaches to welcoming and supporting new arrivals.
  2. Work closely with community groups and organizations to understand their needs and provide tailored support.
  3. Support the development of community-led plans and initiatives that respond to local needs.
  4. Maintain regular communication channels with the local community to counteract misinformation on immigration.
  5. Share clear and accurate information about the International Protection system.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in community development, including engaging with communities at a local 'on-the-ground' grassroots level.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with experience of mediation, conflict resolution, and negotiation in complex situations.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and liaise externally with groups and agencies providing services to local community groups and social enterprise.
  • A recognized qualification in a relevant field, such as community development or social work, and/or equivalent relevant training and professional experience.
