At DB Engineering & Consulting, we are seeking a highly skilled professional to fill the role of Assistant Commercial Manager.

This exciting opportunity will allow you to contribute to large-scale national infrastructure programmes aimed at enhancing railway safety and efficiency.

The ideal candidate will have a Quantity Surveying degree or equivalent commercial management/construction management experience, with a minimum of 3 years of practical experience in the railway industry.

You will be responsible for supporting the project team with all commercial tasks, including preparing reports, contract administration, cost forecasting, subcontract management, and assisting in the management of project budgets.

In this role, you will also assist in preparing cost estimates, inputting cost and quantity information to facilitate report production, and identifying and mitigating commercial risks throughout the project lifecycle.

You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders, contractors, and suppliers under the direction of the Commercial Manager, maintaining effective communication channels to ensure all parties are informed of project developments.

  • A Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent commercial management/construction management experience.

  • A minimum of 3 years of practical experience in the railway industry.

  • Working towards chartership with RICS/SCS/CIOB/ICES.

  • Knowledge of the NEC 3 and 4 suites of contracts.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

  • Willingness to travel as required.
