Achieve your full potential in this dynamic site-based role as an automation technician. Develop new technology, support existing technology and improve production quality, safety, and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, schedule and execute projects to meet committed timelines and project goals.
  • Develop and document project assignments in compliance with governance policies and procedures.
  • Support the development of new technology, existing technology, and existing production lines to enhance quality, profitability, and safety.
  • Conduct or participate in routine project reviews with Project Teams and Management.
  • Perform design work, layouts, sketches, and concepts for projects and plant layouts.
  • Develop and/or review engineering change requests for modifications to processes, equipment, and facilities.
  • Ensure technical and customer requirements for assigned projects are achieved.
  • Troubleshoot and repair all automation equipment including assembly machines/fixtures, label applicators, robots, end-of-arms, separators, and test equipment.
  • Maintain proper machine safety to protect employees when operating any piece of automation.
  • Analyse production data to ensure automation lines meet targeted output and OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness).
  • Provide timely notification to shift leaders and program managers of maintenance and downtime issues.
  • Interface daily with engineering manager and shift support personnel.

 

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or certificate in a relevant engineering subject.
  • 3+ years of experience working as an automation technician and in supporting technical project management.
  • 3+ years of experience in the medical device or similar regulated industry.
  • Participate in a shift schedule.
  • Travel up to 5% of time.
