Galway City is seeking a motivated and articulate Urban Planning Assistant to join their growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for a recently qualified planner with some practical experience to work across a wide range of planning and development projects throughout Ireland.
This role involves assisting in the preparation and coordination of planning applications and appeals, producing high-quality reports, and undertaking planning research and site appraisals. The successful candidate will work alongside experienced planning and environmental professionals on various projects ranging from single residential units to large-scale mixed-use and commercial developments.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist in preparing and coordinating planning applications and appeals
- Produce high-quality reports and supporting documentation
- Undertake planning research and site appraisals
- Liaise with clients, consultants, and local authorities throughout the planning process
- RTPI-accredited degree in Town Planning or a closely related field
- Minimum of 1 year's experience in a planning role (public or private sector)
- Strong report writing skills and attention to detail
- Confident and articulate communicator with excellent interpersonal skills
- A proactive approach and willingness to learn from a supportive team environment
