Job Title

NPD Manufacturing Engineer

Job Overview

This role leads project-related engineering activities within NPD and provides engineering support to the manufacturing department during the new product introduction cycle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive product and process improvements as part of the NPD team
  • Manage new designs through the product lifecycle into manufacturing
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure products fit within existing manufacturing capabilities
  • Work closely with lean and operations teams to meet world-class manufacturing standards
  • Maintain customer focus, ensuring quality and timeliness in all work
  • Manage a variable workload across different projects to meet NPD requirements
  • Design and introduce manufacturing processes for new products to meet productivity and quality demands
  • Ensure complete and effective validations are carried out on all processes before transferring to manufacture
  • Identify and implement permanent technical/system solutions to problems
  • Maintain high-quality compliance standards in line with medical device manufacturing requirements
  • Apply lean principles to identify and develop improvements that increase key process metrics of yield, throughput, and productivity
  • Evaluate potential competitive advantages and cost-benefit analysis of introducing new process technologies
  • Manage external relationships with technology providers/suppliers
Requirements
  • Level 8 engineering degree or equivalent qualification
  • 2+ years' experience in a similar role
