Financial Accountant

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to take on the pivotal role of Financial Accountant. This critical position is responsible for providing accurate and timely financial reporting, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting the organisation in managing its financial performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare precise and timely monthly management accounts and complete month-end procedures.
  • Monitor cash flow and prepare weekly forecasts and treasury reports.
  • Manage banking relationships and ensure compliance.
  • Maintain the fixed asset register, including depreciation and disposals.
  • Monitor capital expenditure and report against set parameters.
  • Complete and file government returns and statistical reports.
  • Prepare annual financial statements in compliance with FRS102.
  • Ensure tax compliance including PAYE, VAT, and corporation tax filings.
  • Manage internal and external audits, including preparation of audit schedules.
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Support company secretarial and compliance functions.
  • Maintain bills of materials and complete product costing.
  • Drive continuous improvement in finance processes and reporting.
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls, organisational policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead and mentor finance team members, promoting knowledge sharing and team effectiveness.
  • Provide cover across all areas of the finance department.
  • Undertake ad-hoc duties and projects as required.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with 3+ years' experience in a financial accounting role, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
