Job Summary

The Neonatal Neurology Clinical Nurse Specialist will serve as a vital link between the Neonatal Unit and Disability Services, working under the direction of a Consultant Neonatologist with responsibility for Neonatal Neurology.

This permanent, full-time position requires a Registered Midwife or Nurse with 5 years post-registration experience, including 2 years in Neonatal nursing. A recognized certificate in neonatal intensive care nursing is also necessary.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide high-quality care to babies with neurological problems.
  • Manage a team and workload effectively, ensuring excellent patient outcomes.
  • Maintain ongoing professional development, training, and research to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Communicate effectively and provide counselling support to patients and families.

Requirements

  • Postgraduate qualification at Master's level (QQI Level 9) or commitment to complete within 2 years.
  • Demonstrable experience in managing a team and workload.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.
  • Counselling skills and ability to communicate effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
