Health and Safety Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Health and Safety Specialist to support site safety in our services and solutions businesses.

This role involves ensuring compliance with current legal requirements and best practices, minimising risks, and maintaining correct working practices through a culture of positive safety behaviours.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of health and safety principles and be able to communicate effectively with employees at all levels.

Key responsibilities include:

  • To work with applicable businesses to bring a unified approach to health and safety and ensure operations understand the safety requirements for their deployment teams.
  • To seek continuous improvement on health, safety, and environment practices for all parts of the business areas.
  • To investigate and review accidents, incidents, and near misses, recommend improvement actions, and record them.
  • To ensure that all suppliers and sub-contractors are properly assessed before inclusion on the Approved List and regular reviews take place with all sub-contractors.
  • To support and assist in creating and providing training related to Environment, Health & Safety.
  • To ensure all employees and subcontractors are following procedures and working according to RAMS.
  • To arrange and carry out audits and HSE inspections at customer sites and offices.

Requirements:

  • A NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience within a similar role in a Construction or Services organisation where CDM is paramount.
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office, Outlook, Intranet (ideally experience of SAP/other databases).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
