Job Title:

A Senior Oracle Database Developer position is available, requiring expertise in designing and building scalable database schemas.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Developing and maintaining views, code, stored procedures, triggers, packages
  • Coding reports and documents using Oracle standards
  • Performing preventative maintenance activities
  • Maintaining technical documentation
  • Managing project source code and documentation
  • Effort estimation & quality control of code and other deliverables
  • Database tuning and performance monitoring
  • Troubleshooting complex database problems
  • Advising on Oracle features and best practices
  • Conducting developer code reviews
  • Provision of mentoring and skills transfer to colleagues
  • Management of DBA routine tasks e.g. roles, privileges, synonyms, schemas, objects, tablespaces across multiple environments
  • Writing database deployment scripts
  • Development on multiple concurrent projects to deadlines
  • Data modelling and database design
  • Issue analysis, diagnosis and resolution
Requirements:
  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
Essential Skills:
  • Designing and building Oracle database schemas for stability, reliability, and performance
  • Oracle PL/SQL coding including: dynamic SQL — literal and bind variables, Bulk Collect, Array Processing, Ref Cursors
  • Application Tuning
  • Creation of scripts to generate views, procedures, functions, triggers, indexes, constraints and packages
  • Knowledge of SQL tuning and query optimisation using cost based optimiser
  • Ability to administer a Jenkins instance
  • Experience with large scale database development
  • Understanding of Excel spreadsheets manipulation using only PL/SQL
  • Manipulation of binary files (BLOB) in PL/SQL
  • Custom programming of Json and XML using PL/SQL
  • Knowledge of JavaScript, application processes and Ajax
  • Understanding of APEX Themes, CSS, and UI customization
  • Experience with toolset: Oracle, ORDS, Linux, Jira, Confluence
