Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer - Automation and Packaging Expert
About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced mechanical design engineer to join our team. As a specialist engineering business, we design and manufacture high-performance automation and packaging solutions for global clients.
This is a pivotal role in driving design innovation, mentoring junior engineers, and delivering high-quality systems from concept through FAT and SAT.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the design of bespoke automation and packaging systems using SolidWorks or similar CAD.
- Manage projects from concept through design, testing, FAT and SAT ensuring designs comply with GMP, CE, and machine safety standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (automation, electrical, project management) to deliver complete solutions.
- Mentor and support junior engineers sharing expertise and best practice.
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Bachelor's/Master's).
- 8+ years' experience, with experience in automation or special-purpose machinery.
- Strong background in 3D CAD/PDM systems, pneumatics, servo systems, and high-speed mechanisms.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to travel occasionally (approx. 10%).
