Job Description

This role focuses on daily depositary functions to support the Aztec Group's services offering.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with direct line managers to establish and refine operating procedures for the depositary services offering.
  • Monitoring cash flows through the fund platform according to given procedures.
  • Ensuring safekeeping of fund assets, whether through custody or verification of ownership.
  • Overseeing the proper operation of the fund platform, implementing controls and checks to achieve this.
  • Working with direct line managers to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Providing higher authority on internal and external day-to-day queries.
  • Supporting direct line managers on delegated tasks such as billing and onboarding.
  • Taking responsibility for providing oversight and monitoring, including transaction reviews and documentation collection processes.
  • Acting as a 4-eyes level of review on depositary matters to ensure adherence to Aztec policy and professional guidelines, providing a professional quality service to clients and outside contacts.
  • Preparing KPI reporting and presenting it in Board meetings.
  • Supervising and assisting in the training and development of more junior staff members.
Required Skills and Qualifications

The following skills and qualifications are required for this role:

  • A relevant professional qualification (such as ACCA) is considered an asset.
  • Sound technical knowledge is essential and can be supported through bespoke on-the-job training.
  • Computer literacy, word processing, and spreadsheet skills are necessary.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills are required to develop close working relationships with colleagues, clients, and business contacts.
  • An eye for detail and good degree of initiative with the ability to provide commercial, risk-sensitive solutions for clients is desired.
  • A willingness to read and interpret domestic and EU regulations and legislation is also desirable.
  • Experience of day-to-day supervision of at least one employee coupled with a desire to develop responsibilities within the people management arena is required.
  • Experience of responsibility for a client relationship or a significant part of a major client relationship is also essential.
