Process Engineer Job Description

The role of a Process Integration Engineer is crucial in planning and executing end-to-end fabrication runs in our flexifab. Using advanced metrology methods, they will design experiments, collect data, analyze results, and iterate on process flows to drive continuous improvements in device performance.

Closely working with researchers and domain experts, the successful candidate will guide technical direction, turning cutting-edge research ideas into tangible outcomes.

Hands-on approach in the cleanroom coupled with thorough documentation of procedures and results will be essential for achieving quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities and Duties
  • Collaborate with supervisors and team members to support project outputs
  • Conduct hands-on end-to-end fabrication of device runs in our MEMS fab
  • Setup and execute DOEs for process and device optimization
  • Implement in-line and end-of-line process metrology to monitor process performance
  • Analyze experimental data to provide recommendations for process improvements and modifications
  • Work closely with researchers and experts to translate ideas into practical fabrication flows
  • Perform risk assessments of new flows or equipment integration
  • Document process flows, recipes, and experimental results
  • Report results in internal meetings
  • Stay current with processing methods reported in literature and apply them where applicable
  • Provide process engineering support for tools specific to projects
  • Train and support junior engineers, interns, or researchers on tool operation, safety protocols, and fabrication procedures

To succeed in this position, you should have an MSc degree in physics, materials science, chemistry, or a related discipline, typically 3 years of experience in end-to-end wafer fabrication processes in a cleanroom environment, demonstrated competence in at least three semiconductor processing techniques, and knowledge of in-line and end-of-line metrology techniques.
