Location: Grand Canal Hotel
The Grand Canal Hotel is seeking a dedicated and experienced Hotel Maintenance Manager to lead our busy maintenance department. This is a hands-on role requiring a proactive individual with strong leadership, technical, and organizational skills to ensure the hotel is maintained to the highest standards of safety, functionality, and presentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and coordinate all major and minor repair works in compliance with current legislation, always prioritizing the health and safety of guests and staff.
- Oversee and ensure value for money from all external contractors and service providers.
- Coordinate regular maintenance for all hotel equipment and systems, including HVAC, plumbing, lighting, and electrical infrastructure.
- Supervise painting, decoration, and upkeep of all hotel areas including guest rooms, public spaces, kitchens, and back-of-house.
- Carry out and oversee preventative and reactive maintenance tasks such as: painting, tiling, plumbing, carpentry, electrical work. General repair and maintenance across rooms, kitchens, bars, and conference areas.
- Maintain cleanliness and order in external and back areas, including the hotel yard.
- Ensure timely completion of all maintenance requests and repairs.
- Adhere to hotel health & safety policies and complete all required safety training.
- Maintain effective communication and cooperation with all departments, especially Front Office, Restaurant, Kitchen, and Conference & Banqueting.
Requirements:
- Proven experience working in a hotel or similar environment within a maintenance department.
- Experience in a maintenance manager or supervisory role preferred.
- Qualifications in one or more trades such as plumbing, electrical work, or construction are desirable.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Full-time availability and flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Excellent spoken and written English communication skills.
- Knowledge of health & safety and compliance standards.
