
Integrated Movement Strategist

Croí's mission to prevent heart disease and stroke relies heavily on the delivery of exercise services. As a key member of our health team, you will lead the development and evaluation of these services, focusing on integrating movement into daily life.
This role is at the heart of our work in expanding cardiac and stroke recovery programmes. You will be responsible for designing and delivering exercise classes, supporting risk factor screening, contributing to public awareness campaigns and research, engaging with local and national service discussions, providing clinical input and leadership, and adapting programmes to individual needs.
- Design and deliver safe, effective exercise programmes for people with long-term conditions, such as cardiovascular disease and stroke.
- Support participants in Croí exercise programmes through assessment and management, including classes and specialist programmes like Rebuild and Healthy Hearts Club.
- Identify and implement service improvements aligned with Croí's prevention mission, managing programme data and documentation to support evaluation, performance review, and adherence to current guidelines.
- Coordinate and deliver public health promotion sessions and exercise classes, overseeing and maintaining exercise resources, and embedding behaviour change strategies into service delivery.
You will also contribute to team education, training, and knowledge sharing, build and maintain relationships with acute and community healthcare partners, engage with local and national bodies on service development and health priorities, and commit to ongoing professional development with mentoring and support from Croí.
Required Skills and Qualifications
As a Physiotherapist or Exercise for Health Specialist, you will require:
- Strong knowledge of heart disease and stroke prevention and management.
- Ability to conduct comprehensive fitness assessments, including heart rate calculations and exercise tolerance.
- Adaptability to design exercise prescriptions tailored to individual needs.
- Evidence-based reasoning and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication with participants and colleagues.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Leadership and coordination of exercise and activity services.
Qualifications include CORU registration for Physiotherapists and REPs Ireland certification in Long Term Conditions Exercise Instructor category or equivalent for Exercise for Health Specialists. A minimum of 5 years post-registration/certification and 3 years' relevant experience are required, along with demonstrated expertise in designing and delivering safe, effective exercise programmes for people with long-term conditions.
