Asset Accounting Specialist

We seek a highly skilled Asset Accounting Specialist to lead our asset management initiatives. This role will be responsible for maintaining and updating the fixed asset register, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical accounting knowledge, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update the fixed asset register, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Process additions, disposals, transfers, and adjustments in line with company policies.
  • Review and reconcile fixed asset accounts, ensuring compliance with IFRS/US GAAP.
  • Prepare and post monthly depreciation and amortization journals.
  • Support month-end and year-end close activities, including reconciliations and reporting.
  • Assist with internal and external audit queries related to fixed assets.
  • Partner with project managers and operations teams to track capital expenditure (CAPEX).
  • Ensure compliance with company capitalization policies and accounting standards.
  • Identify and implement process improvements for fixed asset management.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Part-Qualified or Qualified Accountant (ACCA, CPA, ACA, CIMA) or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in fixed asset accounting, preferably in a medium to large organisation.
  • Strong understanding of IFRS/GAAP in relation to fixed assets.
  • Advanced Excel skills; experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, etc.) is desirable.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage deadlines effectively.
  • Strong communication skills to liaise with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
