Cancer Care Specialist

This role involves working with patients, carers, the public and healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive cancer information, advice and support. The successful candidate will be a registered nurse with oncology knowledge and experience who is able to discuss and assess complex cancer needs as well as related practical and emotional matters.
Main Responsibilities:- Deliver patient education programs and maintain confidentiality and anonymity.
- Provide comprehensive cancer information, advice and support to patients, carers, the public and healthcare professionals through various channels.
- Collaborate with nurses, consultants and other clinical staff involved in cancer care.
- Refer service users to relevant healthcare professionals and/or organisations in line with policies and procedures.
- Registered General Nurse on the active register of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
- Clinical knowledge, leadership and organisational capacity to discharge functions of the role.
- Post-registration qualification in cancer nursing.
- Three years recent experience in cancer nursing.
The ability to work collaboratively in a team environment is essential for this role.
