Job Title: Culinary Team Lead
">We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced culinary professional to lead our kitchen team. As a Culinary Team Lead, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of food preparation, presentation, and service.
About the RoleThis is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and organized individual who has experience in managing teams and implementing high-quality food systems.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food safety and handling, as well as excellent communication and leadership skills.
You will work closely with the Head Chef and other kitchen staff to ensure that all menu items are prepared to a high standard and presented in a visually appealing way.
Key Responsibilities- Food Preparation: Plan and execute daily and weekly food preparation to ensure high standards and sufficient quantities for the following day or week.
- Kitchen Setup/End of Day Duties: Maintain cleanliness and organization of all counters, surfaces, storage shelves, and storage fridges.
- Food Storage: Store food in appropriate, clean, dry containers and label with date of production and use by date.
- Food Presentation: Present dishes in line with Avoca standards or as directed by the line manager or Head Chef.
- Previous Experience: Previous experience working in a busy restaurant environment.
- Teamwork: Able to work effectively in a team.
- Work Ethic: Demonstrate a great work ethic and lead by example.
- Cleanliness/Organization: Maintain cleanliness and organization in day-to-day duties and ensure proper storage, rotation, and health and safety compliance.
- Timekeeping: Adhere to absence policies with proper notification; holidays should be pre-approved before booking.
- Multi-tasking: Ability to focus on multiple tasks at once to ensure timely food preparation.
- Flexibility: Be flexible with roster changes and coverage in different kitchen areas, with advance notification whenever possible.
