Key Responsibilities:

The Senior Quantity Surveyor plays a vital role in the commercial management of individual projects, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services.

  • Preparation of accurate forecasts at contract award stage
  • Management of subcontract and material procurement schedules to optimize project efficiency
  • Drafting of supply chain ITTs including terms of engagement for subcontracts and professional services to ensure compliance
  • Verification of cost-to-date records at each month end, including calculation of project accruals to maintain financial accuracy
  • Maintenance of an up-to-date Cost to Complete and Risk analysis Register for the projects to inform strategic decisions
  • Preparation of detailed CVR reports and other relevant documents as required by stakeholders
  • Maximization of cash position through effective WIP control, cash flow production & improvement plans to drive business growth
  • Identification and mitigation of commercial risks, opportunities, value engineering, and change to minimize potential impacts
  • Measurement of quantities in accordance with standard methods of measurement to ensure accuracy
  • Preparation of Valuations/Application for payment to the Client with comprehensive supporting documentation to meet contractual requirements
  • Administration of the contract, including change management and maintenance of associated registers to ensure seamless project execution
  • Initiation and maintenance of effective Client Management to build strong relationships
  • Preparation, negotiation, and agreement of compensation events to address contractual discrepancies
  • Administration of subcontractor/supplier accounts from requisition preparation to authorization of payments and final account agreement to ensure timely resolution
  • Maintenance of accurate site records to facilitate efficient project operations
  • Collaboration with the Site Team to support work-winning duties, including technical writing for PQQ responses
  • Advice on insurance-related issues, including PI, to mitigate potential risks
  • Performance of additional tasks as assigned by line management to ensure alignment with organizational goals
  • Support and guidance to junior commercial team members to foster their development
  • Promotion of best practice in health, safety, and environmental matters in conjunction with the SHESQ department to ensure a safe working environment
Required Skills and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills. Strong commercial acumen, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively in a team environment are essential.

Relevant qualifications and experience in quantity surveying or a related field are highly desirable.
