Job Opportunity:

As an IT Support Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in providing expert desktop support to all users and facilitating the migration of endpoints from on-premises to cloud-managed solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Offer comprehensive desktop support, including email, remote, and telephone assistance for all users.
  • Assist in transitioning endpoints to a cloud-managed environment.
  • Document process changes for end-user support.
  • Perform hardware and software upgrades on relevant equipment.
  • Address network issues across various technologies and platforms.
  • Ensure the implementation and support of security standards as required.
  • Support laboratory IT hardware and software.
  • Install, maintain, and replace IT peripherals.
  • Provide ongoing documentation of fixes and procedures for all issues.
  • Support Inventory Management using the IT Asset Register.
  • Support Audio/Visual/IT equipment.
  • Adhere to the Tyndall Quality Management system guidelines.
  • Comply with required Health and Safety standards.
  • Carry out additional duties as reasonably required within the general scope and level of the post.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a Certificate/Diploma in an appropriate IT-related field.
  • Typically 2 years' experience in a similar role.
  • In-depth knowledge of supported Windows client operating systems.
  • Previous experience supporting hardware and software.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Documentation and communication skills.
  • The ability to multi-task, work independently, and as part of a team.
  • Excellent customer service skills.

Benefits:

Appointment may be made on the SEA Salary Scale €39,827–€55,116 per annum. Salary placement on appointment will be in accordance with public sector pay policy.
