Key Roles and Responsibilities

The Operational Excellence Specialist will lead the implementation of Lean methodologies across our manufacturing site, focusing on continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, quality, delivery, and cost efficiency.

This position involves:

  • Designing and deploying tailored Lean tools for pharmaceutical operations,
  • Counseling employees in building lean leadership and CI capability,
  • Facilitating workshops and training sessions on Lean principles and methodologies,
  • Driving structured problem-solving and root cause analysis across departments,
  • Leading Kaizen events and improvement projects, and
  • Developing and maintaining visual management systems and standards.
Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates must possess a degree in relevant disciplines like Operations Management, Business Administration, or Manufacturing Engineering. They should also have:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in pharmaceutical or regulated manufacturing operations,
  • A certification in Lean Six Sigma (Black Belt or higher),
  • Expertise in Lean system design and deployment,
  • Strong analytical and project management skills, and
  • Experience in facilitating OE training and coaching with people leaders and all levels of the organization.
Skillset and Tools

Candidates should be proficient in various Lean tools, including:

  • 5S and SMED,
  • Kaizen and Structured Problem Solving (e.g., DMAIC, A3),
  • Leader Standard Work (LSW) and Value Stream Mapping (VSM),
  • Process Mapping, and
  • Waste elimination techniques.

This position requires a strong understanding of Lean principles and methodologies to drive process improvements and operational excellence throughout the organization.
