Job Description

HEAnet is seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Administrator to join its Schools team. This permanent role requires proficiency in Linux systems administration and virtualization, as well as an understanding of networking.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the deployment and maintenance of the Schools team's systems and services, including automation and management of resources. A strong understanding of firewalls and load balancers is essential, along with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • At least 4+ years' industry experience working in a similar role
  • Advanced knowledge and experience in Linux system administration, including file systems, configuration management, and networking
  • Skills in scripting (Python, Bash, Perl) and system troubleshooting
  • Experience of container maintenance and deployment (e.g. Docker, Swarm)
  • Familiarity with automation and configuration management tools like Ansible, Puppet or Chef
