Speech and Language Therapist

We are currently seeking a highly skilled Speech and Language Therapist to fill a vacant position. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical expertise and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Conduct thorough assessments and provide treatment services to individuals with complex support needs.
  2. Analyse voice patterns and examine the factors involved in producing speech using advanced technical equipment.
  3. Collaborate with service users, family members, carers, and other staff members to develop effective treatment plans.
  4. Promote new ways of working with staff teams to prevent future speech and language difficulties.
  5. Deliver training sessions to staff teams to enhance their ability to assist in the recovery of service users.
  6. Refer service users to other specialists when necessary.
  7. Liaise with professionals such as behaviour specialists, psychologists, doctors, and ENT specialists.
  8. Maintain accurate clinical notes and draft reports on client symptoms, treatments, and progress.
  9. Teach exercises to help eliminate speech problems.
  10. Attend clinics and participate in relevant meetings and case conferences.
Requirements:
  • A Level 8 Degree in Speech and Language Therapy is required.
  • The successful candidate must be a registered member of CORU.
  • A qualification in FEDS (Feeding Eating Drinking Swallowing) assessment, treatment, and care planning across populations is essential.
  • Knowledge of standards and legislation relevant to the area is necessary.
  • Strong leadership skills, problem-solving skills, and judgement making are required.
  • The ability to effectively communicate with team members, management, external contractors, and key business relationships is crucial.
