Job Title: Health and Safety Specialist

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Health and Safety Specialist to lead and support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) programs across critical projects.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement comprehensive Work Safe Programs and Behaviour-Based Safety systems.
  • Create and manage HSE project plans, roadmaps, and communication strategies using advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Ensure full compliance with local health and safety legislation, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Lead HSE planning for time-sensitive and high-risk delivery projects.
  • Coordinate and participate in risk assessments, incident investigations, audits, and corrective action planning.
  • Collaborate with project managers and cross-functional teams to integrate safety protocols into all project phases.
  • Maintain accurate records of safety activities, incidents, and project status reports.
  • Deliver safety training, inductions, and toolbox talks to project teams.
  • Track and analyze safety performance metrics; provide regular reports to senior management.
  • Serve as the primary HSE contact for internal and external stakeholders during project execution.
Requirements:
  • Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or related field.
  • NEBOSH/IOSH certification or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience in a health and safety role, or similar.
  • Demonstrated experience managing or supporting projects with tight deadlines and high delivery standards.
  • Experience with Work Safe and Behaviour-Based Safety programs.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (advanced level).
  • Strong project planning and execution skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Capable of working independently and under pressure.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Proactive, with a hands-on approach to driving safety culture.
  • Able to influence and engage at all levels of an organization.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and professional development.
