Operations Supervisor Role

The Shift Operations Manager will oversee and supervise the daily tasks of assigned personnel, ensuring a safe, environmentally compliant, and efficient operation of the facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the operation of critical plant systems including boilers, flue gas treatment, water treatment, turbines/generators, switchgear, and other auxiliary systems.
  • Conduct regular safety reviews for operators under supervision.
  • Direct or perform required operations during emergencies or unusual situations.
  • Approve equipment removal for maintenance purposes.
Leadership Expectations

Lead a team of employees in the Operations Department, responsible for direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit. Carry out supervisory responsibilities according to organizational policies and applicable laws.

Work Environment and Requirements

The work environment includes exposure to moving mechanical parts, heights, fumes, airborne particles, chemicals, outside weather conditions, heat, and risk of electrical shock.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, an individual must have a broad background in plant operations with at least five years' experience in a power or resource recovery plant environment. Secondary education is required as a minimum. An engineering degree or equivalent is highly desirable.
