Community Development Director

Laois Volunteer Centre is seeking a strategic leader to govern the first Volunteer Centre in the county.

The successful candidate will play an active role in establishing the organisation's governance and direction, with a focus on community development.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who shares our belief in the value of volunteering and its benefits for all: the individual, the volunteer involving organisation, and the wider society.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Professional experience in a community development role
  • Creativity and ability to come up with fresh ideas and solutions to community development challenges
  • Experience of strategic planning and service development
  • An enquiring mind, with the confidence to challenge constructively
  • Understanding of the community and voluntary sector landscape in Co Laois

  • Someone who is passionate about community development and has a proven track record in this field
