Job Title: Care Professional

This role is for a highly skilled and experienced individual who can provide exceptional care to young people. The ideal candidate will be able to develop professional relationships with children and parents/carers, ensuring the highest standards of care are met.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Developing Relationships: Build strong bonds with children and their families, providing emotional support and guidance as needed.
  • Care and Supervision: Assist in day-to-day care and supervision of children, including engaging them in activities such as household chores, cooking, and personal care.
  • Purchasing and Domestic Duties: Supervise and purchase clothing for children, maintain furnishings and household equipment, and undertake domestic duties to ensure a comfortable living environment.
  • Accompanying Children: Accompany children to places of worship, holidays, outings, and other occasions, promoting social skills and building relationships.
  • Personal Development: Contribute to the development of young people through promotion and provision of a healthy lifestyle, facilitating personal education plans and organizing recreational activities.
  • Skill Development: Support young people's development in personal and social skills, maintaining contact with parents/carers, teachers, and other professional staff and agencies acting in the best interests of the children.
Requirements:
  • A third-level qualification in Applied Social Studies in Social Care or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in caring for young persons.
  • Report writing and support plan experience.
  • An understanding of basic mental health issues, medical, social care, social welfare systems, and child welfare and protection.
