Job Summary

The Deputy Head of Usher Services position is part of the Corporate Services Directorate, responsible for maintaining a safe working environment for Members, staff, and Parliament Buildings users.

  • Manage security at Parliament Buildings and support Assembly operations in Plenary and Committees.
  • Oversee pedestrian and vehicular access control to Parliament Buildings.
  • Provide frontline security services within the building and its surroundings.
About This Role

You will be responsible for overseeing all staff within Usher Services, managing security and access control measures. This includes supporting Plenary, Committee, and other events held at Parliament Buildings.

This role requires strong communication with various stakeholders, including Members, staff, and external organizations. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills are essential for success in this position.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and oversee Usher Services staff, ensuring they provide excellent security and customer service.
  • Develop and implement effective security protocols to safeguard Parliament Buildings and its occupants.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless event planning and execution.
