Your Future Position

As a Commercial Manager on a key rail project, you will be responsible for optimising revenue while mitigating commercial risk. You will lead a small team in administering customer contracts to ensure compliance with contractual terms and requirements. This includes recovering variation costs, submitting timely and accurate applications for payment, identifying and mitigating risks, and maintaining records to protect against customer or supplier claims.

This role is part of the core project delivery team and requires building a framework of commercial processes, establishing strong relationships with customers, and recruiting a high-performing team to work collaboratively with customers to achieve success. The organisation will deliver cutting-edge signalling technologies on a major railway scheme for Ireland, enhancing service quality for customers and passengers.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide commercial expertise and clear guidance on contract requirements and documentation.
  • Build a strong commercial team and develop positive relationships with clients, sub-contractors, and suppliers.
  • Manage client change control accounts up to and including final account.
  • Record progress and delays, manage change, and maintain relevant contemporaneous records.
  • Produce and issue target cost client applications for payments in line with contract requirements and aligned with programme Earned Value.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Educated to graduate entry degree level requirements or equivalent.
  • Professional qualification with a Quantity Surveying-related organisation (ideally chartered status) is desirable.
