We are one of the largest credit unions in the country with almost €150m in asset size.
We operate within the area (common bond) from Claregalway in the north to Kilcolgan in the south, Oranmore in the east to Galway City in the west.
Our common bond includes a wide variety of members, businesses and organisations who derive great benefit from our member-owned Financial Co-operative.
We are inviting applications for the position of:
Business Development OfficerContract Status – Full Time, 37.5 hours per 5-day week, Monday to Saturday Principal Responsibilities of the Role:The Business Development Officer will report to the Credit Union Manager and will be primarily responsible for creating and developing new business opportunities and marketing in line with the Strategic Plan.
Key Responsibilities:Use data analysis to better understand member behaviour to optimise their user experience and provide for improved member engagement.Develop and agree growth objectives, in consultation with the Board & Management and Lending Teams, and in line with strategic and operational business goals and targets.Design and implementation of the Business Development & Marketing Strategy and targets in line with the Strategic Plan.Promote St. Columba's Credit Union, its services and products directly in local companies and organisations.Develop and follow up on new business leads and sponsorship opportunities.Develop innovative promotional and marketing campaigns via website and social media platforms.Manage all external PR related activities and communications.Assist in the development of in-branch, online/digital lending services & savings products.Plan, prepare and deliver presentations externally to existing and prospective members/organisations and internally to the Board, Management Team and Staff.Analyse the performance of all products and services, in conjunction with the Board & Management Team, to ensure they are meeting their targeted revenue and margin goals.Provide business development training to all officers.Collaborate with other relevant functions including Credit and Operations to ensure a collective approach to business development.Ensure compliance with all legislation, regulations and guidance including the Credit Union Act, Data Protection and Central Bank Regulations.The successful candidate should have the following:Minimum 3+ years' experience in a similar role is essential.A third level business degree or equivalent is desirable.Financial Services experience and knowledge of financial products & services are required.Strong knowledge of social media and digital marketing tools.Excellent IT skills, with strong database analysis and Microsoft Office capabilities, is essential.Excellent communication and presentation skills.Proactive and self-motivated with the ability to adapt to new situations.Full driver's licence and personal transport is required.Please see our website for a copy of the Recruitment Privacy Notice Applications including CV by email only to ****** Closing Date for receipt of applications is Friday 11th April 2025
