Job Specification Position: Junior Mechanical Contracts Manager Department: Mechanical & Electrical Projects Division Reporting to: Operations Manager Status of post: Full-Time Permanent Salary: Remuneration Package will be competitive and in line with experience Location: NI Based with regular travel to mainland UK (Generally 2-3 nights per week) or as projects dictate Job Description To assist in the management of this dynamic department, performing as a Junior under the mechanical contracts manager.
Be commercially focused and have set a target to be delivering a high degree of customer satisfaction Assist the contracts managers with the delivery of mechanical contracts within this department Provide strong technical knowledge to ensure contracts are delivered in compliance with Employers Requirements, specifications and drawings, as well as to the highest possible standards Main Duties and Responsibilities As a Junior contracts Manager within the Projects Division, you will be expected to promote best practice.
The main duties and responsibilities include: Managing, monitoring and successfully delivering Mechanical Contracts for our clients within a range of sectors including Commercial, Education, Healthcare, Leisure and Large-Scale Residential As a manager, you will have the responsibility of ensuring all works are carried out to a high standard ensuring all RAMS and site safety plans are project specific and adhered to Assisting with the procurement and ordering of key materials and appointments of subcontract supply chain, ensuring specifications and drawing requirements are being complied with and are commercially viable.
Have good working relationship with our clients and ensure that all works are programmed and completed in a professional controlled manner.
Providing technical support to customers and team.
Attending regular main contractor design, technical and progress meetings & assist the contracts manager in closing out the associated action points.
Assisting the contracts manager in managing the in-house and subcontract labour resources, ensuring quality of work and compliance with all legal and statutory requirements.
Ensuring all engineers are up to date with all current regulations and training Accurately monitoring and costing contract change instructions/variations Issuing interim valuation claims accurately in line with works completed on site Problem Solving; You will be expected to be able to cope with unforeseen M&E technical problems with confidence and ease Ensuring all activities are carried out in accordance with our written policies and good practice Preparing and presenting internal monthly contract reports detailing key performance indicators as well as stringent cost reporting Person Specification Behaviours Expected Self-starter Positive in all dealings with the directors, management team and staff Demonstrate sound technical awareness Commercial awareness Organised and structured in planning their approach to their own personal work assignments and that of the other members of their team Detailed care and attention to every detail of a project Understanding our clients needs and building lasting relationships from this understanding Strong attention to detail for quality and H&S processes Innovative and forward-thinking approach to each project Courtesy and respect for each team member Good personal organisation, honesty, communication, ownership, reliability and dependability Praise and recognition of individuals and the team for a job well done Criteria Essential Time served Plumber/Heating Engineer with commercial and industrial experience and/or Building Services Engineering Degree with aspirations to become a mechanical contracts Manager.
Excellent time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and to work to a plan to avoid disappointments Good interpersonal skills to create meaningful reciprocal relationships with both colleagues and clients Commercially aware of costs and trends in the market place.
