Technical Engineer – Ballina Based

Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Technical Test Engineer to support the delivery of high-quality testing solutions across integrated systems involving SAP S/4HANA, SAP MII, and manufacturing hardware.
This role is hands-on and execution-focused, working closely with the Technical Manager and wider testing team to implement test cases, validate system interfaces, and ensure data integrity across software and hardware platforms.
Responsibilities
Execute test cases across unit, integration, and end-to-end scenarios tailored to SAP and manufacturing environments.
Support the setup and maintenance of test environments that reflect production configurations.
Perform hands-on testing of software-hardware interfaces, including sensor and PLC signal validation.
Use tools like Selenium, UFT, and Postman to automate and validate UI and API interactions.
Assist in the development and maintenance of test automation frameworks.
Validate data flows and business logic across SAP S/4HANA, SAP MII, and third-party systems.
Conduct scenario-based testing to simulate full production lifecycles (e.g., sales order to manufacturing execution).
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with testing standards and project timelines.
Log and track issues using workflow tools such as JIRA, ensuring timely resolution and documentation.
Qualifications
Third-level qualification or equivalent experience in software testing, automation, or systems engineering.

Experience
2–5 years of experience in technical testing roles, ideally within integrated software-hardware environments.
Familiarity with SAP S/4HANA and SAP MII is a strong advantage.
Experience with test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, UFT) and API testing tools (e.g., Postman).
Understanding of manufacturing systems and hardware interactions (e.g., PLCs, sensors).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Comfortable working in fast-paced, cross-functional environments.
