Mechanical Design Engineer
A fantastic opportunity for an experienced
Senior Mechanical Design Engineer
to lead the development of advanced automation and secondary packaging equipment.
You'll play a key role in driving design innovation, mentoring junior engineers, and delivering high-quality systems from concept through FAT and SAT.

A specialist engineering business designing and manufacturing high-performance automation and packaging solutions for global clients.
With a strong reputation for technical excellence, compliance, and innovation, the company serves industries including pharmaceutical, medical device, and FMCG.
As a result of their ongoing success, they now seek to hire a senior mechanical design engineer to help further strengthen their design department.
The Role
Lead the design of bespoke automation and packaging systems using SolidWorks (or similar CAD).
Manage projects from concept through design, testing, FAT and SAT.
Ensure designs comply with GMP, CE and machine safety standards.
Work with cross-functional teams (automation, electrical, project management) to deliver complete solutions.
Mentor and support junior engineers, sharing expertise and best practice.
The Person
Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Bachelor's/Master's).
8+ years' experience, with experience in automation or special-purpose machinery.
Strong background in 3D CAD/PDM systems, pneumatics, servo systems, and high-speed mechanisms.
Excellent communication, leadership and problem-solving skills.
Willingness to travel occasionally (approx. 10%).
