Purchasing Specialist

FAAC Electronics Limited is an electronic manufacturing site, located in the Citywest Business Campus (Dublin 24). We are part of FAAC Technologies, a world leader in access automation, parking and access control, employing more than 3.400 employees worldwide in 18 production sites. Our 3 Business Units are:

  • ACCESS AUTOMATION (FAAC Simply Automatic) - automation for gates and barriers, entrances and automatic doors, motors for rolling shutters and screens, car parks.
  • ACCESS CONTROL (Magnetic) - systems with innovative solutions for access control, for both barriers and pedestrian passages.
  • PARKING TECHNOLOGY (Hub) - with intelligent and scalable solutions to control paid car parks.
  • Generating and monitoring weekly shortage report

The Purchasing Department is currently searching for a Purchasing Specialist. This role will also work closely with the Planning and Production Department.

Main Responsibilities

Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, the successful candidate will manage Electric/Electromechanical Components suppliers to guarantee Business Continuity, consistent performances and solve issues that may arise. This includes the following tasks:

    • Place orders to suppliers according to production demand to ensure material requirements are met
    • Manage incoming deliveries
    • Negotiate prices, terms and conditions
    • Administer SAP parameter: prices, conditions, stock levels, suppliers master data
  • Manage non-conforming goods cooperating with QA department, return of goods and credit notes
  • Resolving invoice queries

The Purchasing Specialist will work in an highly international environment and will be in constant communication with people in Dublin production plant, but also with FAAC Italy and other locations to:

  • Support New Product Introduction,
  • Make sure that suitable parts are approved and purchasing terms are fixed
  • Take parts to the Purchasing Meetings (local and international)
  • Right to work in Ireland and availability to start within 6-8 weeks

They will be responsible for suppliers performances cost, service, quality, inventory. Will constantly monitore the KPI and will promote initiative to improve them:

  • Seek opportunities by benchmarking potential suppliers, evaluating their capabilities, and selecting the most suitable
  • Negotiate contracts and prices with suppliers to reduce cost and improve PPV
  • Monitor Stock level and optimize parameters to minimize it

Qualifications and Requirements

Must Have

  • Right to work in Ireland and availability to start within 6-8 weeks

The ideal candidate should have:

  • IIPMM, APICS or equivalent Purchasing qualification
  • Good organisational skills
  • 1+ Years Purchasing Experience
  • SAP Experience
  • Good Analytical skills
  • Experience in Electronics Manufacturing
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly motivated individual who can run with projects on their own initiative based on their experience to date.
  • Good P.C. literacy skills and be proficient in MS Packages (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.)
