Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accounting Program Manager to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing accounting programs, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and driving continuous improvement in accounting processes. This role requires strong leadership, excellent communication and collaboration skills and a strong understanding of US GAAP and local statutory reporting, particurlarly ASC606. A key focus of this role will be on process optimization and transformation to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.   • The Accounting Program Manager is the key finance person responsible for completion and evaluating of key accounting processes, identifing best practice and leading global standardisaton. They are accountable to ensure proper revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606, collaborate and build strong relationships with key stakeholders and create solutions which enable complex deals.
  • This position requires a driven self-starter, capable of effectively prioritizing and operating with a high degree of ambiguity in a fast-paced and changing environment.
  • This role is heavy on communication skills that create clarity and drive seamless stakeholder engagement to support Microsoft’s commercial strategy and deliver revenue results aligned to Microsoft compliance and technical accounting policies.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting/Finance, or related field AND extensive accounting or finance experience
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • Technical knowledge of US GAAP accounting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical knowledge of ASC 606.
  • Experience working within Finance in a complex organization, tech industry preferred.
  • Experience with process optimization.

Responsibilities

  • Preparation of day two revenue accounting for commercial deals ensuring accuracy and compliance with ASC606.
  • Lead process optimization and transformation initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate, guide and support senior accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
  • Prepare and present transformation iniatives to senior management, providing insights and recommendations for decision-making.
  • Develop and maintain depth and breadth of knowledge over Microsoft products, services and assigned customer relationships.
  • Programme management of strategic ventures iniatives.
  • Track and follow up on commitments to ensure customer awareness and compliance with contractual commitments.
  • Participate in cross-team initiatives towards process improvements and efficiencies by incorporating business partner and team feedback and industry best practices.
  • Identify and leverage technology to automate and innovate internal processes.
