What's the Opportunity

We are looking for a dynamic and transformational Head of Marketing to lead our marketing team at Distilled. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the way people buy and sell goods and services on three of Ireland's largest online marketplaces, Daft , DoneDeal , and Adverts.ie

As the Head of Marketing, you will be at the forefront of driving growth and success for our innovative platforms. This role offers the chance to work with iconic brands, a dedicated team and to collaborate with industry partners across property and motor.

Reporting to the Executive Team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive marketing strategy that enhances brand visibility and drives user acquisition. Your leadership will be instrumental in motivating and representing the Marketing Team across the company, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.

What will I be doing

Develop and Implement Marketing Strategy:

• Collaborate with the executive team to define and implement the overall marketing vision and strategy aligned with the company's goals.

• Conduct thorough market research and competitor analysis to identify opportunities for growth and differentiation.

• Develop targeted marketing plans to reach key customer segments and increase user engagement.

People Management:

• Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of marketing professionals, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

• Set clear performance expectations and provide regular feedback to team members, helping them grow in their roles and achieve their career objectives.

• Conduct regular performance evaluations and create individual development plans to support employee growth and enhance team capabilities.

• Recruit, hire, and onboard new marketing team members, ensuring a diverse and skilled team to drive marketing success.

• Promote a positive and inclusive work environment, fostering open communication and collaboration across the marketing department and with other departments.

Brand Management:

• Grow Top of Mind of Daft , DoneDeal , and Adverts.ie , ensuring a consistent brand message across all channels..

• Develop and maintain brand guidelines, ensuring that all marketing materials adhere to the brand's visual and tonal standards.

• Supervise the creation of compelling and effective marketing collateral to support campaigns and promotions.

Media Planning and Buying:

• Plan and buy multi-channel media campaigns to deliver against marketing objectives

Digital Marketing and Online Presence:

• Lead digital marketing initiatives, including SEO, SEM, email marketing, social media, and content marketing to drive traffic and conversions.

• Lead the company's online presence on various platforms and ensure the brand's reputation is maintained positively.

User Acquisition and Growth:

• Create and lead user acquisition campaigns to expand our user base, driving both quantity and quality of new users.

• Optimise conversion funnels and user onboarding processes to improve user retention and engagement.

Data Analysis and Performance Measurement:

• Use analytics tools to track marketing campaign performance, user behavior, and key metrics.

• Provide regular reports and insights to the executive team, identifying areas for improvement and growth opportunities.

Collaborate with Cross-functional Teams:

• Work closely with the product development team to understand user needs and integrate marketing strategies into the product roadmap.

• Collaborate with sales, customer support, and operations teams to align marketing efforts and support overall business objectives.

Budget Management:

• Develop and manage the marketing budget effectively, ensuring optimal allocation of resources for maximum Return on Investment.

What skills and experience do I need

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.

• Proven experience (10+ years) in marketing management, preferably in a business with a significant online presence.

• Excellent leadership and people management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.

• Demonstrated success in developing and driving comprehensive marketing strategies.

• Strong understanding of digital marketing channels, SEO, SEM, and social media platforms.

• Data-driven mentality with the ability to analyze performance metrics and make data-backed decisions.

• Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a passion for innovation and staying ahead of industry trends.

• Outstanding communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
